Well, KSE828, I’m not sure where you live, but most, if not all, of the fire sirens I can remember hearing here in Delaware use the attack mode.
And, as an interesting bit of trivia, as far as I know, Delaware is the only state in the Union whose capital is served by a volunteer department. Of course, our capital also has less than 50,000 people living in it…

Nope. All vids I’ve seen use alert, unless it’s a 1003 which obviously uses hi-lo. Most sirens i’ve seen/heard don’t use attack anymore. Just alert for weather/tornadoes/fires.

To KSE828: Here in Ohio..most of the vol fire depts use attack mode. but some use attack mode for Fires and just one wind up and down for med calls

We have a siren that can be use for both functions our 3t22 does go off in the alert mode for tornado warnings and hi-low steady mode for fire calls only.

Well you guys are lucky then. It seems like most sirens don’t even use attack mode anymore. I’ve never seena vid that has “attack” used for firecalls or weather warnings. Only time i’ve ever heard it is during testing, and then the person whose vid it is usually says (not used anymore)

What is kinda strange to me our two new 2001’s go off in the attack mode during test time while the other 6 sirens go off in the alert mode.
